Fereinsteins Vision
1.5 million people in the UK have a learning disability. A learning disability does not stop someone from learning and achieving a lot in life, if they get the right support.
The sessions we provide are for people with severe and profound multiple learning difficulties and disabilities over the age of 16yrs old.
In order to support the learning of students with learning difficulties it is essential to have recognition that achievement can be lateral across a breath of experiences and does not have to always be upward progression.
We offer a person-centred approach to adults with learning difficulties through a wide range of programme choices. Groups will be small in size as we are committed to quality teaching for our learners.
Students with learning difficulties have common difficulties in such areas as listening, perceiving, body awareness and following instructions. We work on individual goals so that an individual’s level of ability and independence is not lost and is improved upon having an individual goal setting system matched to the Pre-Entry Curriculum which enables students to excel to his/her best ability.
We specialise in a communication course which is for individuals with profound multiple learning difficulties and disabilities, for those who are unable to access mainstream education due to a variety of reasons, such as group size, concentration ability or inappropriate behaviours.
Education at all levels needs to monitor progression and participation as well as attainment, and must look at how achievement and attainment can be recognised without accreditation. Indeed, non-accredited courses should not be considered as a lesser product, as they can be of equally high quality as accredited courses.
We make sure that our learners after the age of 16 are not left un-stimulated picking up bad habits in un-condusive conditions but are stimulated and continue to maintain the skills they have.
Written reports are written 3 times a year and photographic evidence is produced for PCP meetings and reviews.
